Maggie Sunshine has officially begun brushing her teeth! With the help of Yours Truly, of course. So, I never knew that they had nifty little things like the "finger" toothbrush, but that thing is SO cool! When she sees it coming toward her, she actually opens her mouth and waits on it. And then proceeds to bite on it...a.k.a. my finger, which sometimes results in slight pain on my part. I remember the days when she was toothless (the toothless wonder) and I would let her gnaw on my fingers. I have had close encounters with those 2 little razors, though, and now know not to let her use my fingers as a teething device. This is Maggie having her teeth brushed on Wednesday morning...
We had a fun day! Maggie and I kidnapped Aunt Sarah from work. Literally. We had lunch at Chick-Fil-A with our friend, Traci, and her boys, Brian and Brett. Then, headed home to see Daddy Tom on his lunch break. This is always one of Maggie's favorite moments in the day. The same routine everyday: Tom walks into the door, announcing his arrival with a big "Hello?" and no matter what Maggie is doing, she get the same surprised expression and starts looking around, waiting for him to pop around the corner and come and get her. Followed by Tom popping around the corner, saying "I'm gonna get choo!" Fun lunch breaks.
So, we spent the better part of the afternoon in Books-A-Million, just hanging out, drinking a caramel macchiato, and reading random books that caught our eye. Maggie and I took a stroll through the baby books and stopped to read a few. The Karen Katz books are the greatest! Maggie literally giggled while I read her a book called...something about "Where's Mommy?". So, that was our afternoon. Then we took a family trip to our new favorite movie rental place and got like 5 movies for $8.
Oh, and to finish today's entry, Maggie now has a handmade mobile...compliments of her Grandmama Denise, Aunt Sarah, Aunt Merrill, and me for risking my life on a chair hanging them up. She is pretty amazed by it, so mission accomplished.
Tomorrow, we head up to Virginia to see Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Butcher. Maggie hasn't seen them since before Christmas, so they are definitely in for a surprise. It seems like it all just runs together for me, being around her every day, but I can only imagine how different she looks and acts if it's been a while. She's getting bigger whether I realize it or not...I love the Mags!
